A small coastal town in Maharashtra’s Konkan area, Alibaug (sometimes called Alibag) is well-known for its beaches, mansions, and picturesque surroundings. Weekend getaways from the cities of Mumbai and Pune are particularly popular in Alibag.

During the dry season, Alibaug is a very popular destination for water sports like parasailing, banana boating, jet skiing, and speed boating. The majority of vacationing families stay in Alibag for a minimum of one night and often for several.

Alibaug has acquired the nickname “mini-Goa” as a result of the year-round heavy visitor traffic. Alibaug, a little town with a rich colonial past, is around 96 kilometers from Mumbai and 150 kilometers from Pune. It is home to many beaches, forts, and temples, so even though it is a small town, there is never a shortage of things to do there.

You won’t have to worry about deciding which beach to visit and which one to skip because Alibaug is known for having a variety of beaches that are all close to one another. Alibaug Beach, which gives a wonderful view of the dawn and sunset as well as the Kolaba Fort, to which you may take a short boat ride, is undoubtedly the most popular beach in Alibaug. The Colaba fort formerly served as the backbone of the Maratha Empire, and the majority of the structure is still standing today. Other well-liked beaches nearby are Nagaon Beach and Kihim Beach, the latter of which is a photographer’s dream.

Alibaug is also home to Mandwa Beach, a beach famously known for the innumerable number of movie shootings that take place here. The beach offers a stunning view of the Gateway of India from its bay, and you can sit and sip a cool drink on the sand under the orchard of coconut trees lining the beach.
